I get this message while walking or stopped as well but I figured out why in my case. I had the app open, got a phone call, answered call and kept moving. When I switched back to the game it had my character run to my new location from where I was when I got the call.

GOOD. there’s a park in my city which is being overrun by people playing this game, and some idiots are driving with it running, stopping in an active traffic lane, and getting out of their cars to run into the park.

At least that’s an option now. My wife has been getting cranky because she’ll play while I drive and hasn’t been able to catch anything. Previous versions disabled functionality automatically above certain speeds. Now at least there’s the “passenger” option so the wife and kids can play.

Of course, there’s nothing stopping the driver from clicking “passenger” as well...

I was sitting on my couch and it popped up. I hit the button and my little fella was JAUNTING away from home and ended up nearly 4 blocks away. He eventually worked his way back, through many a neighbor’s back yard. I thanked him for the additional .whatever k he added to my egg hatching total.

I got the message on my phone saying that I was moving too fast when I left it on in my purse this afternoon. It gave me an “I’m a passenger” button to click (which didn’t go away after I parked my car and went “why is my phone on?” walking to my apartment), but yeeeeah. The messages meant to protect people from themselves is stupid, dumb and bad.
